Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was compensated by its superb location right next to the WTC twin towers, in the heart of the Fort district with the Dutch hospital area nearby. The rooms, located on the street side, were clean and quiet.
The hotel offers a good variety of salads, soups, main courses, and desserts in a clean and well-cared for room with gorgeous views but slightly outdated and smoky ambiance. The service provided by the attentive staff, especially by Sajee in Spice restaurant and the excellent hotelier Kris, was fantastic. The location, while not outstanding, is convenient, close to shops and restaurants, and features some refurbished rooms from 1624. The dining experience at Curry Leaf restaurant was outstanding with a delicious spread, including signature dishes. Overall, the hotel provides excellent value for money with some room for improvement in modernization.
The hotel offers a spacious room with clean and comfortable beds, excellent amenities, breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean, but some smoking around the area. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent with great facilities and beautiful surroundings near key attractions. The dining experience is impressive with a variety of options. The facilities are top-notch.
The hotel offers spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, although the decor is dated and could use a refresh. The friendly and accommodating staff truly enhanced our experience, especially in the restaurants where they went above and beyond. The location, stretching over to the other side via a bridge and close to attractions, lived up to the upscale standards expected, making it the standout feature. The dining experience was delightful, with a diverse selection of delicious options. However, the facilities could benefit from some enhancements to match the overall quality of the stay.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. On the bright side, the rooms were comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped, offering a delightful stay. However, there was a slight cigarette odor emanating from the air conditioning system. The dining experience at the Curry Leaf was to die for, with authentic cuisine from 9 nations, but the location needed refurbishment. The service, despite being hit and miss, was generally friendly and helpful. The hotel's location was wonderful, close to key attractions in Colombo, though the building itself showed signs of aging. Overall, a decent stay with some standout positives and areas for improvement.
The hotel has a convenient location with various restaurants and hotels nearby. The rooms had a cigarette odor and should avoid assigning smoking rooms for families with young kids, but they were equipped with standard amenities like a sofa, table, chairs, and work desk. The service, while hit and miss, was generally friendly and accommodating, especially in the restaurant. The dining experience offered a delicious spread, with a variety of choices, and the location was very convenient. However, it required walking a bit from the hotel. The facilities were well maintained, and the price was reasonable.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The upgrade to the corner suite offered magnificent views of the Indian Ocean, which was wonderful. However, the inconvenience caused by the room layout was a downside during my stay.
The hotel offers a high standard experience with commendable pool area and gardens, plus an excellent Executive Lounge service. The rooms are well-equipped and clean but could benefit from a modern touch. Service is attentive but may have room for improvement, especially regarding communication for additional services. The location is fantastic, not far from key attractions in Colombo. Dining features a wide variety of international cuisines, with standout local Sri Lankan selections. Overall, a comfortable and friendly stay with a few areas for enhancement.
The hotel offers a classic feel resembling Hilton rooms from the early 90s, but in need of upgrades. The lobby renovation is a good sign of improvements. Price might be a bit high for the current room condition.
My stay at Hilton Colombo was a mixed experience. The rooms, while large and in good condition, are in need of refurbishments that were long overdue. The service provided by the staff, especially Janaka and the serving team, was discreet and efficient. The location overlooking the sea and Lotus pond was serene though a bit awkward at times. The dining options were diverse and delightful, thanks to the efforts of Mr Thushara and Mrs Hansi, but it could be improved by offering more variety. Overall, the facilities were satisfactory but could use some updates.
